"The creation of a heritage center on this historic property will provide a crucial link for future generations to Sonoma's rich and diverse cultural history."
----Joe Nation, California State Assemblyman
The League's current project is the restoration of the Maysonnave House, a 1910 farmhouse located at 291 First Street East. League activities have raised more than $340,000 and in 2005 the Sonoma City Council approved funds of $350,000 for the project.
The League's ultimate goal is to create a Sonoma Heritage Center on the site to be enjoyed by visitors, residents, and schoolchildren alike. The Heritage Center will house a visitor center, a museum, a photo archive, and a meeting place. The grounds and garden will be the perfect spot to rent for meetings, special celebrations, and small weddings.
